Brett Favre News

Why, Brett Favre, why? Why must Brett Favre keep doing this to himself, his team, his fans, and to the reputation of senior citizens everywhere. Brett Favre is acting like a typical old man; refusing to listen to the people that are suppose to look after him, (Head Coadh: Brad Childress), and insisting that he plays through injuries.

Yesterday Brett Favre busted up both his ankle and heel, and sources close to Favre are saying they have never seen him this hurt or dejected before. This is to say that Brett Favre is in no condition to play in Week 8, however something tells me Favre will force the start so that he can keep his iron man streak going, even if it hurts the Vikings.

Tarvaris Jackson Gets Ready

Then you have Tarvaris Jackson who was told he would have the starting position for the Vikings this season, but had it taken away when Favre un-retired. Jackson has been taking most of the snaps in practice but it is likely that Brett Favre will start in New England next week.

NFL Online Betting

Tom Brady and his long hair will host the Baltimore Ravens in Week 6 NFL betting. If you follow along NFL blogs and player chat boards you may have heard a lot of trash talking between these teams. Mostly it was a couple of no-name players on the Ravens that were talking smack about Tom Brady, which Tom Brady replied,

"Since I have been a Patriot we have played these guys 5 times, and all 5 times we have won, yet before and after every single game these guys have something to say. I myself let my play do the talking, maybe they should do the same."

Ouch! At the end of the day I pity the fool and anybody who has the nerve to talk trash about Tom Brady. Brady has how many Super Bowl rings, and how many models, and how many guest appearances as himself on Entourage? More than most.

New England Patriots Betting Odds

Now it's not all about Brady, the Patriots have a pretty good team and are looking pretty good this season, even without Randy Moss. NFL online sportsbooks have the Patriots as -3 point favorites in this one which seems pretty reasonable. Take the Pats at -3 and the UNDER 44.5 points.

New York Giants Betting Odds

When Eli Manning hosts a party, you know there are going to be plenty of chaperones and non-alcoholic beer as is the case at the New Meadowlands Stadium where Manning and the Giants will play gracious hosts to the Detroit Lions.

Unfortunately for the Detroit Lions, every team in the NFL marks a W next to the dates where they face the Lions. Even with all of the roster moves the Lions have made in the offeseason, they still have a tough time getting the Win.

NY Giants Betting Picks

The Bodog.com online sportsbook as the New York Giants favored at -10 points (-105) on point spread betting and the Lions at +10 points (-115). The total points are sitting at 43.5 points which should not be too hard to hit considering the numbers both of these teams have put up in their last few games.

If you have been following along with the progress of both of these teams this year you will notice that the Giants won some games because of good luck, whereas the Lions lost some games because of bad luck. Although I don't believe the Lions will win this game, this should be able to cover the spread.

Lay your money down on the Lions at +10 to cover.

Ben Roethlisberger Returns

The moment all NFL betting fans and College girls have been waiting for, Ben Roethlisberger is making his return to the NFL after serving out his 4 game suspension which was originally 6 games. Women and children lock your doors, Big Ben wants to play.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have done quite well without Roethlisberger. Between Dennis Dixon, Charlie Batch and Byron Leftwich, the Steelers have a record of 3-1 without Ben. Undoubtedly the Steelers are a better team with Big Ben, but Mike Tomlin is really proud of his squad and how they were able to forge ahead without Roethlisberger in the lineup.

Ben Roethlisberger Makes His Debut

Ben's first game back isn't going to be a tough one, but he should be challenged just enough to see if he still has it. This Sunday the Cleveland Browns make their way into Pittsburgh to face the Steelers. Oddsmakers currently have the Steelers listed as -14 point home favorites which might sound crazy because this is not a College Football game, but considering how bad the Browns are and how good the Steelers can be with Roethlisberge in the lineup, the 14 point spread is justified.

Our free NFL betting pick is to take the Steelers at -14 points and for you to prepare yourself for a tsunami of Roethlisberger bandwagon jumpers come Monday.

Betting NFL Football

The NFL betting world is getting ready for NFL Week 5. Turn on your computer, check your Internet connection, and get ready to start making some money. Start by visiting BetUS.com and then pay close attention to the below NFL Football Betting predictions.

Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts will be hosting Matt Cassel and the Kansas City Chiefs this week. Online sportsbooks currently have the Colts listed as -7.5 (-110) point favorites and the Chiefs as +7.5 (-115) point road underdogs.

The Total points are sitting at Over/Under 43.5 points.

Week 5 NFL Predictions

This is the part you pay close attention to and stop staring at the above Peyton Manning picture.

Although Matt Cassel and the Kansas City Chiefs have looked impressive 4 weeks into the NFL betting season, it's hard for me to bet against Peyton Manning. Our NFL betting prediction is to take the Indianapolis Colts at -7.5 on the point spread and to take the Under.

Free NFL Betting Picks

In the NFL betting world, there is no such thing as a sure bet, mostly because whenever you murmur the words "sure bet" or "goose egg" in sports, something unforeseen always pops up. This coming NFL week we do not have a sure bet, however we do have a pretty good line.

The Jacksonville Jaguars are making their way into Buffalo, NY to face the Bills in a matchup of two sub par NFL teams.

The Jaguars are currently listed at -1 point favorites, and the Bills are the home underdogs at +1 point betting odds. The total points is currently set at 40.

NFL Free Picks

On most Sundays you probably would not have even looked twice at this game, but when you see a point spread like this you have to throw some money down and then watch every minute of the game with a smile on your face.

Although the Jaguars are not much better than the Bills, they are at least 2 points better. Take the Jacksonville Jaguars on the point spread at -1 and sit back and relax as your money rolls in!

Betting NFL Predictions

Now that Week 4 of the NFL betting season is in the books, our attention shifts towards the upcoming week. This week we have the Carolina Panthers hosting the Chicago Bears in Charlotte, North Carolina. From looking at the above picture, Jay Cutler is just as excited to be playing for Chicago as he was playing for Denver a couple of years ago.
As a Bronco Jay Cutler did not get much pass protection and spent most of his plays laying on the ground looking at interceptions being run back. Now as a Bear, he is getting smoked more than meat.
The Bodog.com online sportsbook currently has the Chicago Bears as -8 (-110) point favorites and the Carolina Panthers sitting at +8 (-110) betting odds on the point spread.
The Over/Under point totals on this match are sitting at O/U 40 ½ points at -110.

NFL Betting Week 5 Predictions

Now that we have gotten you all hot and bothered looking for NFL predictions, we bring you our winning picks below.

Although the Chicago Bears have looked shaky, the Carolina Panthers haven't looked any better. This should be a low scoring game, mostly won by the Bears defense. Take the Bears at -8 (-110) and to take the UNDER 40 1/2 points.

NFL Betting Picks

As we make our way into Week 4 of the NFL betting season the action is starting to heat up. Next up we have the New England Patriots heading into Miami to face the Dolphins.

Did you know that Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are part Miami Dolphins owners? I'm thinking the Dolphins could use Lopez as their full back as Ricky Williams hasn't looked too great this season.

Online sportsbooks currently have the New England Patriots at -1 (-115) betting odds on the point spread, and the Miami Dolphins betting odds on the point spread are currently set at +1 (-110).

The total points is sitting at Over/Under 48 points.

The Over/Under totals on this game are currently posted at O/U 48 points at -110.

Monday Night Football Picks

Without further ado, we bring you our NFL Monday Night Football picks for Week 4 betting action.

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots have looked shaky thus far, however they are the Patriots, and the Patriots always find a way to win. Our NFL online betting prediction would be to take the Patriots at -1 (-115) and to take the OVER 48 points.

Hot NFL Teams

Hot streaks in the NFL are a dime a dozen, and they usually do not last more than 3-4 weeks. Current hot streaks in the NFL include the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers.

Although the Bears and Steelers are the only two teams in the NFL going into Week 4 with 3-0 records, the Philadelphia Eagles are starting to pick up momentum with Michael Vick leading the charge.

NFL Betting Odds

As we go into Week 4, it is not very likely that there will still be 2 undefeated teams left standing.

The Chicago Bears go up against the New York Giants in New York.
The Bears are +4.5 underdogs in this game.

The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Baltimore Ravens at home with Charlie Batch starting for the Steelers.
The Steelers are -3 point favorites.

Donovan McNabb goes back to Philadelphia for the first time with the Redskins to face off against Michael Vick and the upstart Eagles.
The Eagles are favored to win by 5.5 points.

Dez Bryant Dinner

And who says that Karma isn’t real? If you’ve been following the progress of rookie Dez Bryant in the NFL with the Dallas Cowboys this season you may of heard that during spring camp he refused to carry the pads of veteran receiver Roy Williams.

An NFL hazing tradition, the rookie always carries the pads of a veteran player after practice. Even Terrell Owens did it this year after signing with the Bengals!

2 months after the fact, Dez Bryant got his payback in form of a $54,000 dinner tab. Another NFL tradition is for the rookies to pay the tab when the team goes out for their first regular season postgame dinner. Supposedly veteran Cowboys were ordering expensive wine bottles to go which caused the dinner bill to skyrocket.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Odds

Now that we know that the Cowboys are full, maybe they can take some of that energy onto the field during practices this week. The Cowboys have a bye week and will not be in action until Week 5 against the Tennessee Titans. NFL betting odds for that week have yet to be posted.

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Struggling NFL Teams

Going into NFL Week 4 there are a lot of notable teams struggling or play subpar from what online sportsbooks originally had them predicted as. As with every year, there are always teams who are expected to do bad, and they do, but what about the NFL teams that everyone predicted as going 3-0?

The Buffalo Bills are by no means one of the NFL teams that fans expected to go anywhere, and their recent woes have just gotten worse. The Buffalo Bills have cut their starting quarterback, Trent Edwards, who was the Bills starting quarterback the last 3 years.

The New York Giants are also having some issues with players not showing up to practice, and players who show up to games but are not competing as well as they should.

NFL Online Betting

It is always extremely important to follow the betting trends and against the spread betting patterns for struggling teams which can be found at any online sportsbook. As we are all aware, the real money from betting on NFL games comes from point spread betting, not betting on the moneyline. This is why it is extremely important to not just bet against struggling teams, but struggling teams playing hot teams.

NFL Player Injuries

In the NFL player injuries are as inevitable as player DUI offences. You cannot predict when they are going to happen, or to whom but when they do happen they can be the difference between a winning season, and a rebuilding season.

The most notable injuries in the first couple of Weeks of the NFL betting season are to Darrelle Revis and Dennis Dixon.

Darrelle Revis Injury

After being a contract holdout over the summer, Darrelle Revis finally signed with the New York Jets, but hurt himself in Week 2 while trying to cover Randy Moss. Revis is expected to not play until Week 5 when the Jets face off against the Minnesota Vikings.

Dennis Dixon Injury

Just when coach Mike Tomlin didn’t think things could get any worse with Ben Roethlisberger sitting out the first 4 games of the season, fill in starting quarterback Dennis Dixon obtained an injury in Week 3 and is expected to be replaced by Charlie Batch until Roethlisberger returns.

Injuries are an important factor when betting on NFL games and it is always a great idea to check the injury report on Sportsbook.com prior to placing your bets!

The Atlanta Falcons demolished the Arizona Cardinals 47-7

NFL Online Betting

We’ve been getting a lot of people asking why we are only posting one free NFL pick per day and while we would love to devote every second of every day to serve you, we do have to put some research into these NFL picks and there are so many hours in a day!

For all NFL betting odds and betting lines, check out the Bodog.com online sportsbook. Now the Bodog.com online sportsbook offers Live Betting which allows you to bet on any play in the game live.

In this post we will be reviewing the Cincinnati Bengals vs. New England Patriots game which will be played in New England on Sunday, September 12th at 1:00 PM EST.

Bengals vs. Patriots Betting Odds

We finally get to see the Batman & Robin show, as Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco like to call it, in action against a strong New England Patriots defense.

Moneyline betting odds have the Bengals at -135
Moneyline betting odds have the Patriots at +105

Point spread betting lines currently have the Bengals at +7.5 (-110) odds.
Point spread betting liens currently have the Patriots at -7.5 (-110) odds.

Total betting odds are currently listed at 43 points (-110).

This game should be a high scoring game with a lot of action so if you have a couple of hours free, this would be a great NFL game to watch this Sunday. Now that the Patriots have both Tom Brady and Wes Walker back, they are going to stomp over any team with a mediocre defense like the Bengals. Take the Patriots at -7.5 (-110) and the Over at 43 points (-110).
See you satisfied NFL betting players tomorrow!

NFL Picks & Predictions

As we enter Week 1 of the NFL online betting season we have a lot of picks and predictions to go over with some key matchups brewing.

In this post we will be reviewing the Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills game in Buffalo.

To bet on this NFL game check out Sports Interaction, an online sportsbook that has all the different types of NFL betting that you can imagine.

Miami Dolphins vs. Buffalo Bills Betting Odds

Although this by far will not be the best NFL game on Sunday, it should be worth betting on. Both the Dolphins and Bills have weak starting quarterbacks in Chad Henne and Trent Edwards, so it will be interesting to see how their offences do.

Moneyline betting odds have the Dolphins at -120
Moneyline betting odds have the Bills at -110

Point spread betting lines currently have the Dolphins at -3.5 (-110) odds.
Point spread betting liens currently have the Bills at +3.5 (-110) odds.

Total betting odds are currently listed at 39 points (-110).

Although the Bills are usually a strong team when playing at home in the month of September, Miami’s defense is just going to be too much for the Bills. Take the Dolphins at -3.5 (-110) and the under at 39 points (-110).

Until next time, happy NFL betting!

New York Jets in Hot Water

And judging from the above picture, this water is really hot! Now as much as I love random pictures of hot girls, the above picture actually has something to do with this post. The above hottie, Ines Sainz, has a booty just like her name, “in..sane”.

Ines Sainz, sports reporter for Mexico’s TV Azteca, was in New York earlier this week covering the New York Jets practice. While Sainz was trying to conduct herself in a professional matter, Jets’ Coaches and defensive backs were intentionally throwing balls (footballs) in her direction so that players could subtly get a good look at her while going for the ball.

Unfortunately for the Jets, they were not subtle enough as Sainz filed a complaint against the Jets organization with PETA, I mean Association of Women in Sports Media.

Jets Off field Distractions

In addition to making women feel uncomfortable at Jets practices, the Jets are currently also dealing with another off field distraction concerning Darrelle Revis.

Revis has yet to sign with the Jets and the team opens the regular season on September 13th in the Monday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens. The Jets will be without Calvin Pace for this game who is recovering from a shoulder injury.

NFL Regular Season Betting

The NFL regular season has arrived and you know what that means…NFL betting time! To start the season off right we have 1 game scheduled on Thursday, 13 games slated for Sunday and then 2 more games for the Monday Night Football game.

To help you win some money, I’ve put together a preview of the Green Bay Packers versus Philadelphia Eagles game. This game will be played on Sunday, September 12th at 1:15 PM PST.

Before you continue reading, I need to mention that these picks are going to be pretty useless if you do not have an online sportsbook account to bet on NFL games. If that is the case, check out the Bodog.com online sportsbook and get an instant 10% bonus.

Green Bay Packers vs. Philadelphia Eagles Betting Lines

The Packers are currently the favorites as they head into Philadelphia to face Andy Reid and the Eagles. This game is going to give us all a good look at the new Eagles without Donovan McNabb who signed with the Washington Redskins last season.

Moneyline betting odds have the Packers at -115
Moneyline betting odds have the Eagles at -105

Point spread betting lines currently have the Packers at -3 (-110) odds.
Point spread betting liens currently have the Eagles at +3 (-110) odds.

Total betting odds are currently listed at 53 points (-110).

With the Total sitting at 53 points, this is likely to be a very high scoring game. My money is going on the Packers at -3 as Aaron Rodgers and the Packers are just too good to be defeated by the new Eagles.

Week 1 NFL Betting Picks

The moment we have all been waiting for is only 6 sleeps away, and I’m not talking about 2 for 1 Thursdays at your local strip club!
The 2010 NFL betting season kicks off the regular season with a Thursday game that is a rematch of last season’s NFC conference title game between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings.

As we all remember, the game ended pretty badly for Favre and the Vikings who lost in overtime, but things went pretty well for the Saints who went on to win the Super Bowl.

Saints & Vikings Betting Odds

Currently odds makers have the New Orleans Saints as favorites, mostly because they are a better team and will be playing at home in the Superdome in New Orleans.

Moneyline betting odds have the Saints at -135
Moneyline betting odds have the Vikings at +125

Point spread betting lines currently have the Saints at -4.5 (-110) odds.
Point spread betting liens currently have the Vikings at +4.5 (-110) odds.

Total betting odds are currently listed at 49 points (-110).

If you are still undecided as to where to place your bet, betting on the Saints at -4.5 points at home are pretty good odds and I would jump on those. You can bet on this game as well as all NFL games at Sports Interaction and get a 100% signup bonus!

Darrelle Revis Contract Dispute

As we inch closer to NFL regular season play, the Jets are still without one of their best players, Darrelle Revis. The All-Pro cornerback is still holding out for money and Jets fans are starting to question whether if Revis is worth it.

Revis is an incredibly talented cornerback and when he has been matched up against the likes of Randy Moss, Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens, he has completely shut them down every time.

Darrelle Revis is reportedly seeking close to $50 million for 4 years and sources close to the Jets are saying they are close to reaching a deal.

New York Jets Betting Odds

If Revis signs with the Jets, their chances of winning a divisional title and making it to the AFC conference will significantly increase. With Mark Sanchez at quarterback and the newly acquired LaDainian Tomlinson in the back field, the Jets are currently favored at 6/1 betting odds to win the AFC title.

Monday, August 30, 2010

Plaxico Burress Release Date

Former New York Giants Super Bowl winner, Plaxico Burress, was just denied a work release request which would allow him to get out of jail so that he could work/play in the NFL. Less than 2% of work release applications are granted so it was never really likely that Burress would be able to join the New York Giants, or any team that would have him.

If Plaxico Burress does not get himself into any trouble, his likely release date from prison would be June 6th, 2011. Unfortunately for the injury plagued Giants, Burress’s release date cannot come sooner.

New York Giants Betting Odds

Jim Sorgi, the Giant’s back up quarterback to Ili Manning, has suffered a shoulder injury that has him out for the season. With the news of the injury come rumors that the Giants are looking to trade for Matt Leinhart from the Arizona Cardinals. The New York Giants are currently sitting at 25/1 betting odds at the Sportsbook.com online sportsbook to win Super Bowl XLV, after missing the playoffs last season.

Sunday, August 29, 2010

Ochocinco Twitter

I myself do not have a Twitter account, but I do occasionally check out the tweets of interesting celebrities, and who else is more interesting than Chad Ochocinco? From legally changing his name from Chad Johnson to Chad Ochocinco (means 85 in Spanish), Chad has been entertaining fans for years, regardless of the number of fines that the NFL has sanctioned him with over the years.

Most recently Chad Ochocinco tweeted that in the first regular season NFL game this year against the New England Patriots next week, he is going to borrow a rifle from one of Minutemen and shoot it if he gets a touchdown. The Minutemen as you know, shoot their rifles after every Patriots touchdown.

Cincinnati Bengals Matchup

Currently the Cincinnati Bengals are sitting at +7 point underdogs against the New England Patriots. This game will be played on September 12th in New England. You can bet on this NFL game in additional to all NFL games at the Bodog online sportsbook.

Matt Leinhart News

After having a miserable preseason thus far, Matt Leinhart of the Arizona Cardinals is a little more than disgruntled with the Arizona Cardinals. Arizona Cardinals head coach, Ken Whisenhunt, has decided to start Derek Anderson as the Arizona Cardinals starting quarterback for the second preseason game in a row.

This will be the Cardinals last preseason game before the NFL regular season kicks off, and with Anderson starting, this is a very good indicator that Leinhart will not be Kurt Warner’s replacement this season as many previously speculated.

Matt Leinhart Trade

Inside NFL sources are reporting that the Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders have expressed trading for Matt Leinhart. Currently Matt Leinhart is making $2.485 million this year, and is schedule to make $7.36 million next season. With just a high pay increase next year, it is unlikely that the Bills and Raiders will want to give up a lot in trade for Matt Leinhart who blames his bad performance on his coach, not himself.
Currently the Arizona Cardinals are favored by -5.5 points against the Washington Redskins as found at the Sports Interaction online sportsbook.

Albert Haynesworth News

Over the past few weeks the tension between Albert Haynesworth and the Washington Redskins head coach, Mike Shanahan, has been the topic of much debate. It has turned into a he said she said debacle where both sides have brought some much undue controversy around the Redskins locker room. Now, it seems that all is resolved as now reporters can’t stop talking about the back and forth good natured jokes between the two parties.

In a post game interview, Albert Haynesworth said he was going over to Coach Shanahan’s house for drinks and cigars.

Coach Shanahan’s reply, “Well, he made me buy the drinks and the cigars.”

If this is what passes for comedy in the NFL, they should look at hiring Carrot Top to replace McNabb until his ankle injury heals.

Step aside Jerry Seinfeld, Mike Shanahan and Albert Haynesworth are coming to a comedy club near you!

The Washington Redskins next game will be on Thursday, September 2nd against the Arizona Cardinals.

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Dez Bryant Injury

Karma is a bi*%$, that’s what Roy Williams must be saying after hearing of Dez Bryant’s ankle injury. Bryant hurt his ankle during the second-last play of a Dallas Cowboys practice recently.

If you don’t remember, earlier in Spring camp, rookie wide-receiver Dez Bryant refused to carry veteran wide-receiver Roy William’s pads after practice, which is a traditional part of rookie initiation as old as Jerry Jones. Although Dez Bryant is very talented, his attitude can use some extra practice.

Dallas Cowboys Preview

The Cowboys training staff are clearing Dez Bryant for the Cowboys game against the Dolphins next week. The game will be played in Dallas and since it is going to be the last preseason game, it is very likely that starters for both teams will be playing the majority of the game. Online sportsbooks have not yet posted betting lines for this game, but my guess is that the Cowboys will be heavily favored by at least 4-7 points.

Finally, NFL preseason is almost over!

Monday, August 23, 2010

Matt Leinart Stats

While Kurt Warner was tweeting asking “how to splice movies on a MAC” during last night’s Arizona Cardinals vs. Tennessee Titans game, the Cardinals passing game was struggling more than a drunk midget on stilts.

Matt Leinart, who is suppose to be Kurt Warner’s replacement as starting quarterback of the Arizona Cardinals, went 4 of 6 passing for only 28 yards and produced 0 points for a second straight game. It’s safe to say that the Arizona Cardinals are sending gift baskets to the Warner household as we speak.

Larry Fitzgerald News

At the conclusion of the 2nd half in last night’s game, Larry Fitzgerald, who is currently sidelined due to a sprained MCL, was asked about the retirement of Kurt Warner and how it would affect the Cardinals offence. Larry Fitzgerald, who was part of a 60/40 pass to run ratio last season, said this season it may be 50/50.

Fitzgerald made his name catching receptions from Kurt Warner, and is understandably nervous with the likes of Matt Leinart trying to replace a future Hall of Famer.

Donovan McNabb Injury

Just when you thought things were starting to turn around for Donovan McNabb, he sprains his ankle, in a NFL preseason game no less.

If McNabb would have hurt his ankle in a regular season game, or on Dancing With the Stars, I would have not been as disappointed as I am now. This is what happens when you have stars playing in games that don’t mean anything. McNabb hurt his ankle in a preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens and will not play in the Redskins next preseason game.

Donovan McNabb News

The Washington Redskins have just officially put Donovan McNabb on their injury reserved roster, stating that McNabb has a ankle injury that will prevent him from playing against the New York Jets on Friday, August 27th in New York. Rex Grossman will be starting this game for the Redskins and online sportsbooks currently have the Jets favored by -4 ½ points. Even with McNabb in this game I think the Redskins would have had a hard time to win this game, therefore my NFL betting picks would be to take the Jets at -4 ½ points.

Brett Favre Unretires

The moment we were all waiting for this offseason came and went in a matter of 5 minutes, 2 unfunny jokes, and several loud groans. Brett Favre held a press conference today and announced that he will play 1 last NFL season with the Minnesota Vikings. Far off in the distance you could hear a loud groan coming out of Tarvaris Jackson’s locker. Favre says that his reason for returning was because he felt that he owed it to the Minnesota Vikings to give it another shot. When asked if he wanted to win the Super Bowl this season so that he could retire on top, Favre replied with, “No.”

Brett Favre Vikings

For another year the Minnesota Vikings will be referred to as Brett Favre’s team, not Tarvaris Jackson’s. Favre said he was already on top when he left the Packers, he was on top when he was with the Jets, and he was on top last season with the Vikings so he does not need to win the Super Bowl this season, his last, before he can say he retired “on top”.

Tim Tebow Haircut

I understand this may not be the best way to start this post, but you would be surprised by the number of NFL betting fans who have been searching “Tim Tebow Haircut” in Google the last couple of days. For those of you who landed here in search of a glimpse of Tebow’s haircut, I hope you enjoy.

For those of you who are brushing up on your NFL betting news, you have come to the right place. Although Tim Tebow was the 3rd string quarterback in his debut NFL preseason game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Tebow showed flashes of brilliance in a 33-24 loss. Unfortunately Tim Tebow was being protected by an offensive line full of 3rd string players which also had him showing flashes of falling and not being able to get up.

Tim Tebow Stats

Although at times it appeared that Tim Tebow had difficulty in keeping up with the speed and quickness of the NFL, he did manage to put together some decent stats. Tim Tebow completed 8-13 passes for 105 passing yards and also ran in for a 7 yard touchdown in the final play of the game.

Tim Tebow for Vice President!

Free NFL Betting Picks

Since I received a lot of buzz from my post the other day regarding our free NFL betting picks, I figured I would throw out some more picks. Although I prefer to only bet on big NFL televised games that I can follow along with, it’s also fun placing bets on games that you can’t watch so that later on in the day you can just login to your sports betting account and see if you won or lost. I love the suspense of NFL betting!

NFL Preseason Bets

Tomorrow we have the Buffalo Bills playing the Washington Redskins at home. This will be head coach’s Mike Shanahan and starting quarterback Donovan McNabb’s debut as Washington Redskins.

The Sportsbook.com online sportsbook currently has the Washington Redskins favored by -5 points and the over/under total is sitting at 34 points. Although a 5 point spread in NFL preseason betting is pretty steep, I believe the Redskins will cover it. Take the Washington Redskins at -5 (-110).

NFL Preason Betting

Hello again loyal constituents. Right about now you guys are probably wondering when the NFL betting picks and predictions come out. Well folks, this is your lucky day because I am going to list my free NFL picks and predictions.

Even though it goes without saying, I will say it because I feel that it does need to be said… NFL preseason betting is very difficult because the starting players rarely play enough to make a significant impact in the game, so essentially you are betting on the skills and talent of the second string players. Without further ado, here is our first NFL online betting pick.

NFL Betting Picks & Predictions

Friday, August 13th we have 3 NFL preseason games on tap. First up we have the Jacksonville Jaguars heading into Philadelphia to face the Eagles without Donovan McNabb. The Eagles are currently favored to win by -3 points. Our betting pick is to take the Eagles on the point spread at -3 points. You can bet on this NFL game at the Bodog.com online sportsbook now!

Brett Favre Retires

"Brett Favre retires from gardening", the title of this post should say. In a week where NFL online betting fans have been following sports betting news sites more closely than presidential elections, the only news to come out of Brett Favre’s camp was that he fell off a tractor while tending to his oversized garden. Brett Favre is starting to get on the nerves of a lot of NFL fans, in addition to the already peeved off Minnesota Vikings.

Is Brett Favre possibly looking to make a “The Decision” sequel and follow Lebron James’ lead? Brett Favre is good, but his decision to or not to retire will not have that big of an impact of the NFL like Lebron James’ decision had on the NBA.

Brett Favre News

Aside from tractor injuries, inside reports are speculating that Brett Favre will make his announcement on whether or not he will retire next week as he is scheduled to see his doctor this week. For the latest NFL online betting news, be sure to come back here so we can bore you with news about Brett Favre.

NFL Preseason Online Betting

Now that we are officially underway in terms of NFL preseason online betting, now’s the time to find our sea legs and gauge how officials are making calls, and how players are performing, so that we can make better NFL online betting picks.

We have 3 NFL pre-season games to look forward to on Thursday which will have the Dallas Cowboys playing their second NFL preseason game in 5 days.

NFL Betting Previews

The New Orleans Saints will be heading into New England to face the Patriots. Online sportsbooks currently have the Patriots favored by -1 ½ points.

The Carolina Panthers will be facing the Baltimore Ravens. Online betting sites currently have the Ravens as -3 ½ point favorites.

Lastly, but definitely not least, we have the Oakland Raiders heading into Dallas to face the Cowboys. Online sportsbooks currently have the Oakland Raiders as +3 ½ point underdogs which is a pretty decent betting line for NFL preseason betting.

You can place all your NFL online betting wagers at the Bodog.com online sportsbook, where new players will receive an instant 10% signup bonus.

Terrell Owens A No Show

Well we all got a look at the Terrell Owens Show yesterday, including special guests Carson Palmer and Chad Ochocinco. Just like this season’s premiere of Entourage, the Terrell Owens Show was a tad overrated. Although it did seem like Carson Palmer was trying to pass the ball to Terrell Owens every chance he got, the only nice catch Owens made was negated due to a Chad Ochocino penalty. How ironic is that?

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Cincinnati Bengals by a score of 16-7, which went well under the projected Over/Under betting line of 32.5 points. That’s the thing with these NFL pre-season betting games; they always go under the projected totals.

Bengals NFL Betting Predictions

Although the Bengals first NFL pre-season game this season felt more like a loose practice, it is expected that Owens and Palmer will undoubtedly experience some growing pains as they look to get their groove back like Stella. I’m predicting that the Cincinnati Bengals go 10-6 this NFL betting season, which will be more than enough to secure them a playoff birth.

Hall of Fame Game Preview

Tomorrow will mark day 1 of the first NFL betting pre-season game of this season, and it couldn’t come at a better time! The first pre-season game of the season, also known as the Hall of Fame Game, will be played in Canton, Ohio, the home of the NFL Hall of Fame. This year’s NFL Hall of Fame inductees include Emmitt Smith and Jerry Rice, two iconic NFL players that rightfully deserve their Hall of Fame status.

On the field we will have the Cincinnati Bengals up against the Dallas Cowboys. This game will give us a great look at the new Bengals line up with the addition of Terrell Owens.

NFL Hall of Fame Game Betting Odds

The NFL Hall of Fame Game will be played in Canton, Ohio, at 8:00PM EST. Current online sportsbooks have the Cincinnati Bengals favored by -3 points in point spread betting.

Cincinnati Bengas Betting Odds -3 (+105)
Dallas Cowboys +3 (-125)
The current over/under total points is sitting at 32.5 (-110) which online betting experts are expecting the game to go under.

Brett Favre News

I’m going crazy covering the Brett Favre saga as another twist has developed today. After yesterday’s Brett Favre rumors/news, we were all told that Brett Favre told the Minnesota Vikings organization that he was not going to return for another NFL season. Rumors claim that Brett Favre notified Vikings players via text messages which comes as a shock to me because I don’t see Favre as the 14 year old girl text messaging type.

Now, we have just learned that Brett Favre has told ESPN that he will return if he is healthy. Right about now Tarvaris Jackson’s mom must be trying to go after Brett Favre with her shoe.

Favre Watch 2010

Brett Favre has an appointment with his doctor next week and then he will decide if his ankle is healthy enough. If you recall, Favre hurt his ankle in last year’s NFC championship game against Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints. It’s hard to imagine that the Vikings can come that close to the Super Bowl again with or without Favre so we will all just have to wait and watch what Brett Favre and his doctor decide.

Brett Favre Unofficially Retires

Rumors are spreading like wild fire and the latest rumor to come out of the NFL is that Brett Favre has reportedly informed the Minnesota Vikings that he will not return next season and that he is going to retire from the NFL. I almost feel redundant making another Brett Favre retirement joke, but this time I think it is true. However, if Brett Favre does un-retire again, I will shoot myself.

Brett Favre’s Replacement

I’m sure Aaron Rodgers and Tarvaris Jackson have created a support group by now, and they both own a dartboard with Brett Favre’s face on it. Let’s put ourselves in Tarvaris Jackson’s cleats for a moment. You’ve been told you are going to start and lead a great team this upcoming NFL season. A team that if it wasn’t for a botched field goal, would have made the Super Bowl last year. So you go on to tell your family and friends of this great opportunity, but then it gets taken away from you. Then you find out that it might be given back to you, and then you sit around waiting for an official press conference.

Now that I am out of Tarvaris Jackson’s shoes, I don’t feel bad for him because he is getting paid millions to play football. Currently the Minnesota Vikings are favored at 12/1 betting odds to win the Super Bowl, and 6/1 betting odds to win the NFC Conference. These betting odds are reflective of a scenario where Favre is retired.

Gerald McCoy Signs With Bucs

On the first day of training camp the Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed their 1st round draft pick, Gerald McCoy to a 5 year contract. If big expensive contracts disgust you, now’s the time to stop reading.

Without once having step foot on a NFL football field, the Bucs signed McCoy to a 5 year contract worth $63.42 Million. That’s a over $200,000 for every pound McCoy weighs (295 lbs). McCoy is a Defensive Tackle who was signed to hopefully fill the void that Warren Sapp left in the Bucs defensive line from a few years ago.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Betting Odds

The Bucs are expecting big things from their rookie and are hoping that McCoy is the missing piece to stopping their opponents running game. Online sportsbooks currently have the Bucs favored at 150/1 betting odds to win the Super Bowl, and sitting at 70/1 betting odds to win their NFC Conference. Although the Bucs made a couple of good moves this offseason, they are still not likely to get past their division. The Bucs are currently favored at +1500 betting odds to take their NFC South Division.

Tim Tebow Signs 5 Year Contract

In the words of Stevie Wonder, Tim Tebow is now signed, sealed and delivered to the Denver Broncos. As always, official details of the contract have not been released by either side, but sources close to the Broncos say that Tim Tebow has committed to the Denver Broncos for 5 years for $33 Million which has him earning around $6.6 Million a season. Although to most of us $6.6 Million is a lot of money, but to put things is perspective, Ray Oswalt, a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies, is making about $30 Million a season playing baseball and I’m sure many of you haven’t even heard of him before.

2010 Denver Broncos Betting Odds

Currently the Denver Broncos are predicted at 50/1 betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV and the Broncos are sitting at 25/1 betting odds to win the AFC conference. I doubt that the Broncos will make it to the Super Bowl; however betting odds on them winning their AFC West division, +600, are looking pretty juicy to me as they only have the San Diego Chargers to beat. For all updated NFL picks, predictions and betting odds, check out the Sportsbook.com online sportsbook.

Oakland Raiders Future Betting Odds

Can you believe that the guys in the above picture are actually kindergarten teachers? For the past few years Raiders fans have gotten more notoriety than the players on the field, but this upcoming NFL season things are starting to look up. With the signing of Jason Campbell in the offseason, future betting odds for the Oakland Raiders went down to 80/1 from 100/1 as found at the Bodog.com online sportsbook.

Oakland Raiders Standings

In the past few seasons the Oakland Raiders have been the bottom feeders in the AFC West standings, and this upcoming NFL season they are looking to win their division. Currently the Oakland Raiders are holding their camp in wine country, Napa California. So as oppose to Oakland Raiders rookies being exposed to hookers and blow, this season they will be exposed to wine and cheese. Look for the Oakland Raiders to make some headway this season in the AFC West where sportsbooks have them at +700 betting odds to win.

Terrell Owens Signs With Bengals

Well folks it is official like a referee’s whistle, the T.O. era in Cincinnati has officially begun with Owens signing a 2 year contract with the Bengals. Exact contract terms have not been released but Owens is set to receive $2 Million/season plus incentives. Although Owens has already missed a few Bengals practices, it should not be a problem for him to fit in with a lot of practice time before the NFL regular season kicks off.

Cincinnati Bengals Betting Odds

We knew the betting odds for the Bengals would eventually change with the signing of Terrell Owens, but the change is subtle. Prior to the signing of Owens, the Bengals were favored at 30/1 betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV. Now, after the signing of Terrell Owens, the betting odds for the Cincinnati Bengals to win Super Bowl XLV have been lowered to 25/1 as found at the Bodog.com online sportsbook.

As you can tell I take this site very seriously and I like to conduct myself in a professional manner at all times, however I’m pretty sure that we are going to have a lot of fun writing about the Owens and Ochocinco erotic love fest this upcoming NFL season so stay tuned!

Dez Bryant Refuses Rookie Initiation

NFL experts are saying that Dez Bryant will be the best rookie in the upcoming NFL season; however he is already starting to get on my nerves.

It is tradition amongst NFL rookies to carry the pads of veteran players after practice; however when Roy Williams asked Dez Bryant to carry his pads after yesterday’s Cowboys practice, Bryant said “No”. I might have been more understanding if Bryant said, “no thank you”, but he plain out said “No”.

Dallas Cowboys Betting Predictions

Although Dez Bryant has some growing up to do, I think the Dallas Cowboys will be just fine this upcoming NFL betting season. Currently the Dallas Cowboys betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV are set at 10/1, and the Dallas Cowboys betting odds to win the NFC conference are set at 11/2 at most online betting sportsbooks. Right now it seems a bit far fetched that Bryant is the missing link in the Dallas Cowboys offence, but with Romo getting better every season, I like the Cowboys chances to be playing football next February.

T.O. & Ochocinco Together On the Bengals?

In the ever-changing world of Terrell Owens, it looks like we now have another twist in the wind. After the St Louis Rams backed out of the Terrell Owens sweepstakes, the Cincinnati Bengals have thrown their hat into the mix. I guess you could say that the Bengals are used to having 1 jackass on their team, what’s the harm in having two?

Cincinnati Bengals Betting Predictions

Currently the Cincinnati Bengals are led by Carson Palmer at quarterback, whose main target is suppose to be Chad Ochocinco. What happens if you throw Terrell Owens into the mix, could this be the fresh start Owens needs? Who does the defense double team or put their best defensive back on, Ochocino or Owens? Owens signing with the Bengals could mean success for the franchise, but will Owens agree to a respectable offer, or will he want to break the bank?

There are a lot of questions left to answer and only time will tell. Currently the Bengals are favored at 30/1 betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV without having Owens on their roster.

NFL Possibly Moving to an 18 Game Schedule

I couldn’t find any pictures to represent the new proposed NFL 18 schedule, so instead I figured I would treat you guys to a picture of the Miami Dolphins’ cheerleaders. I guess you could say that if the new 18 game schedule is approved by the NFL, you will get to see a lot more of NFL cheerleaders, which also means they will be working less at strip clubs.

For the last couple of months there has been a big debate going on between NFL owners, players, news reporters, critics and fans about the proposed 18 game NFL season, but everybody might as well save their breath because it is going to happen 100%.

NFL Betting Schedule

I for one welcome the extended season proposal which means that pre-season games will turn into regular season games that actually mean something and will be worth watching. Everybody knows that betting on the NFL pre-season is so unpredictable and only moneyline betting odds are safe bets to make during pre-season games. I guess the only people who might not like the extended season would be the players who will have to work an extra 2 days a year, but I say if you love what you do, what’s an extra 2 days if it means it will generate more revenue for the vendors who work at the games, the small pubs who only get business on game day and the cheerleaders that just want to make a living dancing with their tops on.

Brett Favre's Future Uncertain

Contrary to what you might be thinking after looking at the above picture, Brett Favre is not holding a father & son football camp. Those scrawny kids behind him are not his children, but they in fact play for the Oak Grove High School junior high football team in Hattiesburg, MS. Because Favre is so good, he feels that he does not need to practice against grown men anymore, and instead toys around with little children, Roman Polanski style.

Brett Favre’s Decision

Earlier this week the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings, Brad Childress, flew down to Hattiesburg and had a meeting with Brett Favre about Favre’s return to the NFL. Rumors are speculating that Brett Favre will not return to the NFL this upcoming season, and that Tarvaris Jackson will be leading the Minnesota Vikings offence. Right now you have to assume that current online sportsbooks have posted Minnesota Vikings betting odds on the assumption that Brett Favre will return. Current betting odds on the Minnesota Vikings winning Super Bowl XLV at the Bodog.com online sportsbook are sitting at 12/1. Whether or not Favre returns, I do not see the Minnesota Vikings winning the NFC, let alone the Super Bowl.

Emmitt Smith's Cowboys Predictions

Last year at this time before the start of the 2009-10 NFL season, Emmitt Smith was not only dancing with the stars, but he was giving away free NFL predictions as well. When asked what his NFL predictions would be for the Dallas Cowboys. Emmitt Smith predicted that the Dallas Cowboys would go 7-6 and miss the playoffs last season, which obviously did not happen. Last year’s NFL predictions by Emmitt Smith pissed off a lot of current players on the Dallas Cowboys roster who proved him wrong and made the playoffs, but they still did not make it far.

Super XLV Betting Predictions

This year when former Dallas Cowboys great, Emmitt Smith, was asked for his Dallas Cowboys upcoming NFL season predictions, he had this to say, "This year, they have a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to. Hopefully those guys have taken this offseason and said next year should be our time. They made giant strides.''

Although it sounds like Emmitt Smith is now trying to suck up to the Dallas Cowboys, he may be right in that they are predicted to have a great season. Online sportsbooks currently have the Dallas Cowboys favored at 12/1 betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV and the Dallas Cowboys are favored at 6/1 betting odds to win the NFC.
