Detroit Lions Shake Up Their NFL Roster

I sympathize with Detroit Lions fans everywhere and hopefully this will be the year they start moving forward or else I fear that suicide rate in Detroit will soon skyrocket and that has nothing to do with the auto industry.

Detroit Lions NFL Betting

Lion’s fans do have hope this season as the organization has just made 2 very significant signings that are sure to help last season’s worst Pass Defense stop some passes this NFL season. The Detroit Lions have just signed Louis Delmas and Kyle Vanden Bosch who are not only known for their hard to pronounce lastnames, but also known for their great defensive talents at stopping the pass.

Last NFL season the Detroit Lions had a 2-14 record, this NFL season I would predict that the Lions go 6-10 which will be a major improvement over recent years. I also think the Lions will win the annual Thanksgiving Day game special which hasn’t been worth watching in about 10 years because the Lions have played so horrible.

NFL Owners Meeting

Earlier this week NFL owners sat down for their annual spring meeting in Dallas, Texas. A few of the NFL owners had a chance to stay a couple of nights extra, consequently breaking regional sales records for the purchases of Jimmy Beam bourbon, Metamucil and Viagra.

There were many topics on the hot stove including the location of the Super Bowl in 2014, Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension, overtime rules, and the use of drugs in the NFL. Just to be clear, the drug discussion was regarding NFL players, not NFL owners’ use of performance enhancement drugs.

NFL Super Bowl 2014

It is now official, the NFL is breaking away from tradition and the Super Bowl in 2014 will be held in an outdoor field in New York. This means the NFL owners believe that if you can shell out $2000 for nosebleed tickets to the Super Bowl, you should also be able to afford a parka, longjohns, toque and mittens.

Hopefully if Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension is over by then he might have a chance to attend the 2014 NFL Super Bowl.

Crabtree Looks Promising for 49ers

First off people, you would not believe how hard it was finding a picture of San Francisco 49ers star Wide Receiver, Michael Crabtree. This is not due to a lack of pictures on the internet of Crabtree; it’s just that there are even more pictures of Michael’s crab tree, also known as random pictures of crab invested penises of men with the name Michael.

San Francisco 49ers’ Michael Crabtree

The above picture is of Michael Crabtree doing what he does best, catching the ball and gaining a boat load of yards after the catch utilizing his agility and quick speed. Last NFL season Crabtree was a holdout and refused to attend the 49ers spring training camp until he got more money and missed the first 5 NFL games for the 49ers. Once Crabtree finally did step on the field in a 49ers jersey he impressed everybody and left fans wishing he would have signed sooner.

NFL NFC West

I think it is fairly safe to say that the San Francisco 49ers will be frontrunners in the NFL NFC West conference and that Michael Crabtree will lead all wide receivers in this conference with most yards after the run. Whether you agree with me or not, you can always bet online NFL prop wagers at any great online sportsbook that offers them.

Brett Favre Update

Does he love me, or does he love me not, will he retire, or will he not? These are the same questions that came up last year and the year before that regarding the retirement of Brett Favre. In typical Brett Favre fashion, he has refused to comment on whether he will be retiring or playing another season with the Minnesota Vikings.

Brett Favre Injury

If Brett Favre won’t tell us NFL betting men on the status of his retirement, maybe his doctor will. It has just been confirmed that Brett Favre will undergo ankle surgery within the week, instead of putting it off like most non-professional athletes would have done.

Because Favre is rushing into this surgery now, this is a strong indicator that he is going through with it so that he can be ready for the Vikings training camp after 4-6 weeks of rehab. Professional Speculationers such as myself believe that Favre will be playing for 100% this upcoming season and this ankle surgery will not effect affect his playing.

JaMarcus Russell Suffers Middle-Child Syndrome

“Lonely, so lonely, JaMarcus Russell is so lonely, because he’s got nobody…”
Alvin and the Chipmunks said it best, and now this latest picture from the Oakland Raider’s training camp confirms that JaMarcus Russell is lonely and there is nothing worse than a quarterback that has no sense of belonging.

Online NFL Betting News

Russell, a once a highly touted #1 NFL draft pick, has now become just another fan asking teammates for autographs. Okay maybe I just made that part up about him asking for autographs, but recent news reports are being speculated within NFL news circles that it is likely that JaMarcus Russell will never start another NFL game.

JaMarcus Russell’s Future

With the recent signing of Jason Campbell by the Oakland Raiders and 0 NFL teams showing interest in taking on JaMarcus Russell as a 1st string or 2nd string NFL quarterback, you might say that the future looks pretty grim for Russell, but in the eyes of this pretty blogger I don’t think this will be the case.

I believe that Russell is just going through a rough patch right now, a victim of bad circumstances which will definitely test his character but he has always proven himself to be a mentally tough football player so it is only a matter of time before Russell will finds a position on another NFL team’s 2010-2011 roster.

NFL 2011 Super Bowl

The upcoming NFL Super Bowl is going to be held in Jerry Jones’s new Dallas Cowboys football stadium. As you may have heard the NBA’s 2010 All-Star game was also held in the new Cowboys stadium which went off without a hitch, but the game did leave a whole new slew of illegitimate children behind.

As you can see from the above picture, this stadium is huge and a great example of our wasteful excess culture, but that discussion I’ll save for another time when I have a few more drinks in me.

The new jumbotron screen at the stadium alone is over 160 feet wide, 71 feet tall and cost over $40 million. The total cost of the Dallas Cowboys stadium was approximately $1.3 billion which means that if Tony Romo doesn’t start winning some more games, he may be demoted to being a urinal cake cleaner.

Dallas Cowboys Betting

When Terrell Owens left the Dallas Cowboys prior to the start of last season, I strongly believed that Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys would go far into the NFL playoffs because they would have been able to leave all major distractions off the field, however this was clearly not the case as the Dallas Cowboys were knocked out of the playoffs by Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings.

Now I’m sure that the Green Bay Packers are not the only ones pissed off that Favre came out of retirement!

Tim Tebow : Class Act

It’s not every day you read a story about a young athlete doing the right thing; however Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos is the exception.

Tebow happily embraced 4 full years of college football with the Florida Gators and brought them 2 national title championships and won himself the Heisman Trophy. Most players would have not thought twice about making the jump to the NFL early if given the opportunity, but being the intelligent person that Tim Tebow is, he wanted to finish school first.

Now fighting for the #1 QB spot for the Denver Broncos, Tebow has already memorized the Broncos playbook and has looked sharp at the Denver Broncos spring camp. Tebow has an extremely strong work ethic and is intelligent which isn’t something you can say about all NFL football players.

NFL Football Players

These days in the NFL everyone and their mother (McNabbs for Chunky Soup) have an endorsement deal and you can’t stop but wonder if all these endorsements are distracting NFL football players which is a cause for concern for NFL online betting entrepreneurs such as I.

Not to worry about Tebow though as he just announced he will not be taking on any endorsement deals and wants to purely focus on his rookie NFL season. Where Lebron James accepted a $65 million contract from Nike before he ever played an NBA game, Tebow has chosen to put all that potential endorsement money on the backburner.
I’m not saying I would do the same, but kudos to you Tim Tebow, you are a class act!

Brian Westbook's Triumphant Return

Is Brian Westbrook possibly coming out of retirement and spending too much time with Brett Favre? The 30 year old running back left the Philadelphia Eagles two years ago because of a knee injury and reoccurring concussion problems. However the latest buzz on the green is that if Westbrook does make his return to the NFL, it will not be with the Eagles.

Recent rumors have been confirmed that the Denver Broncos are in talks with Brian Westbrook in regards to him returning to NFL football as a role player. Don’t expect Westbrook to be the NFL scoring touchdown leader this upcoming season, or for him to even get more than one touchdown, his role will be purely as a spiritual advisor/player for their younger running backs.

Denver Broncos Backfield

With a wily veteran like Brian Westbrook on the sidelines, the Denver Broncos young running backs will have a great learning experience. With the likes of J.J. Arrington and Knowshon Moreno, look for the Denver Broncos to have a tough running game for this upcoming NFL football season. I doubt that the Broncos will make any serious run at the Super Bowl, but I would also strongly suggest betting on them against teams that have a tough time defending the rush. Mike Shanahan is out in Denver, but they are still led by a group of experienced coaches and ownership so don’t be afraid to bet online for the Broncos.

NFL Players or Horses?

I think it’s safe to say Brian Cushing was experiencing a little roid-rage in the above picture, pretty much putting Seattle Seahawks quarterback, Matt Hassleback in Steve Austin’s Stone Cold Stunner wrestling move.

Brian Cushing, a linebacker for the Houston Texans has tested positive for a NFL football banned performance enhancement substance. The bigger news that has everyone talking is that Cushing will not miss one single NFL football game for this violation.

This news does not upset me because I like my NFL football players to be on some sort of drugs, it just makes the game wilder, but there are a lot of players, teams and fans causing a kafuffle about the lack of discipline by NFL football officials.

NFL Online Betting

What upsets me is that NFL officials off the record could careless about what performance enhancement drugs their players are on, but on the record they have a raging boner against NFL online betting. This doesn’t make sense to me at all. If you’re going to treat NFL football players like horses and feed them steroids, you should then also embrace NFL online betting because as we know everyone bets on horses!

Young vs. Old & Leinart vs. Warner

Another quarterback controversy hits the NFL during the offseason, why am I not surprised? In Arizona things are really starting to heat up hotter than a Miley Cyrus music video and that is all thanks to two pretty talented quarterbacks fighting for the #1 position.

Who is Starting Between Leinart and Warner?

It is safe to say that Kurt Warner has earned his keep in an Arizona Cardinals uniform, taking them to the Super Bowl just a couple of seasons ago, and another great winning season last year. On the other hand we have young buck, Matt Leinart who is getting sick of playing second fiddle to a man as old as his father. Leinart has a great arm, and could easily be playing the #1 spot for a boat load of other NFL football teams next year.

NFL Predictions

Since I love to speculate and NFL betting is my most profitable hobby, I think I am qualified to make a NFL betting prediction for the coming NFL season.

I strongly believe that Kurt Warner will start this NFL season for the Arizona Cardinals, and I also believe it will be his last. I’m not saying Warner is going to retire after this NFL season, but I do not see him playing for the Arizona Cardinals football team next season.

NFL Betting News

No, that is not me dressed up like Donovan McNabb throwing the ball around in my backyard. The above picture is from the Washington Redskins spring camp where Donovan McNabb looks to return to old form this NFL season despite some recent trash talking from DeSean Jackson, a former teamate of McNabb’s in Philadelphia.

In a recent interview DeSean Jackson said he was very happy to see Donovan McNabb leave and stated that McNabb would not be missed by the Eagles organization.

NFL Betting Predictions

Although DeSean Jackson does not think the Philadelphia Eagles lost anything during the offseason, we know better. With both Donovan McNabb and Brian Dawkins leaving the Eagles for wealthier pastures, the Eagles are looking pretty weak this season.

If I was a NFL betting man, which I actually am, I would stay away from the Philadelphia Eagles in my NFL betting predictions this season as they are too emotional and prone to giving up too easily to win any meaningful games this season.

I know the NFL betting season seems really far away at this point, but if you do not do your research and pick a great online sportsbook now to get your ducks in a row, you are bound to have as good of a betting NFL season as the Eagles!

NFL QB Trades

Who would of ever thunk it that these two (left: JaMarcus Russell, right: Jason Campbell) would be teammates at the start of the 2010-11 NFL betting season after both having dismal seasons last year. Although these two are currently practicing together for the Oakland Raiders, one of them isn’t expected to be there at the start of the NFL betting season.

Betting NFL Football

If you are planning to bet on the NFL this season, there is something that all online bettors should be aware of, and that is the many NFL QB’s who played musical chairs during the offseason. Donovan McNabb has left the Philadelphia Eagles for the Washington Redskins, Jason Campbell has left the Redskins for the Raiders, and now…we wait and see what happens to JaMarcus Russell because it wouldn’t be a good idea for Al Davis and the Raiders to keep two noteworthy quarterbacks in the lineup.

Be sure to check back here for the latest NFL betting news and updates including the JaMarcus Russell saga.

NFL 2010-11 Betting Picks

After weeks and weeks of the Ben Roethlisberger controversy hanging over the Pittsburg Steelers, the Steelers are finally back to business and have started their mini training camp. You will not find Roethlisberger at this camp since earlier this week he was ordered by the NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, to stay away until his evaluation was complete.

In addition to not being able to practice with his team, Roethlisberger has also been suspended for the first 6 games of the regular NFL season.

NFL Betting Flags

I think it’s pretty obvious to stay away from Ben Roethlisberger and the rest of the Steelers in any NFL pools or online betting situations, unless of course you are betting against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

NFL Betting Hopefuls

On the other hand, there are a few teams that are looking pretty solid that I would feel comfortable backing for the 2010-2011 season. I know that season hasn’t started yet, but the Washington Redskins and the Tennessee Titans are going to turn a lot of heads this year, and are sure to have a lot of surprising upsets.

You heard it here first folks!
