Ray Rice Frustrated With the NFL

I too would be frustrated if I had to run around all day with a 300 pound linebacker on my back. Talk about always having somebody looking over your shoulder when you are trying to do your job!

Ray Rice of the Baltimore Ravens is actually frustrated because he feels that he does not get the credit he deserves for being one of the premier quarterbacks in the NFL. Rice, who rushed for 1,339 yards last NFL season, was named to the NFL Pro Bowl this offseason. However even with the Pro Bowl selection, Rice still feels that he is underated. Other than having your jersey retired while you are still an active player in the NFL, I’m not sure what more credit Rice is looking for.

Baltimore Ravens Predictions

Currently the Baltimore Ravens are predicted at 12/1 betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV. Betting lines on the Baltimore Ravens winning the AFC are currently sitting at 7/1. NFL betting odds on the Ravens winning the AFC North are currently at -110 which is pretty good considering how tough their roster is with Ray Lewis, Ray Rice and Joe Flacco. Jamarcus Russell Arrested

The facial expression of Jamarcus Russell in his mug shot picture to the left says it all, “I once had a $36 million contract but decided to throw it all away on getting high off of cough syrup.”

Earlier this week Jamarcus Russell, former #1 draft pick of the Oakland Raiders but now released from their roster, was arrested for possession of illegal drugs. The drug is question was codeine syrup which is also referred to as “purple drank” by rappers. California police say they had been investigating the fallen star for the last two months.

2010 Oakland Raiders Predictions

With things going from bad to worse for Jamarcus Russell, one has to question Al Davis, and the rest of the Oakland Raiders organization. Why is the Oakland Raiders franchise such a hotbed for badass football players? Is there something about Black and Silver that make players rowdy?
This season the Oakland Raiders have brought in Jason Campbell who is known for being one of the “clean good guys” in the NFL. How long before he too is corrupted? Considering the firepower in the AFC, I do not believe that one of the above NFC teams will win Super Bowl XLV.

The New England Patriots currently have (6/1) betting odds to win the AFC Conference for the upcoming NFL season.

Between the Colts, Patriots and Ravens, you would think the clear favorites to win the AFC Conference in the NFL would be Payton Manning and the Colts, however expect Brady and the Patriots to give them a run for their money. NFL Super Bowl Betting Odds

As we inch closer to the start of the 2010-11 NFL betting season, mini-camps are coming to an end and free agents are signing, making it easier for online sportsbooks to post betting odds for the 2011 Super Bowl XLV. It seems as if very NFL season there are a few teams that are considered heavy favorites to make it into the Super Bowl, however this NFL season we may see some upsets.

Indianapolis Colts (9/1) betting odds: Payton Manning and the Colts are once again favored to win Super Bowl XLV, however despite their great regular season records; they always end up running into a fierce opponent in the playoffs, despite Manning’s heroic efforts.

New Orleans Saints (9/1) betting odds: Every NFL season the team that one the previous season’s Super Bowl always ends up being one of the heavy favorites to repeat. Unfortunately back-to-back Super Bowl winners has only happened a handful of times so I do not think the New Orleans Saints will repeat.

Although both the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans currently have the best listed betting odds to win Super Bowl XLV, I do not believe either team will. Stay tuned for our next post where I will predict which semi-underdog will win Super Bowl XLV!

Eagles Release Michael Vick?

Earlier this week rumors started to surface that the Philadelphia Eagles have, or are in the process of releasing Michael Vick from their roster for the upcoming NFL season. These latest Michael Vick rumors stem from an altercation a couple of weeks ago outside a restaurant that Vick was celebrating his birthday at. The man shot outside the restaurant is supposedly also Michael Vick’s co-defendant in the dog fighting charges that have sent Vick’s good name to the dogs.

Philadelphia Eagles Predictions

Inside sources have confirmed that the Philadelphia Eagles will make their decision regarding Michael Vick after the police investigation has concluded in the coming month. With Michael Vick out, Kevin Kolb will solidify the #1 starting quarterback position for the Philadelphia Eagles. Kolb, who is only 25 years old, has 4 years of NFL experience playing behind Donovan McNabb and started two regular season games for the Eagles last NFL season. Kolb has a pass rating of 88.9% and is known for being able to throw long bombs. Early NFL predictions have the Eagles barely clinching a playoff spot this upcoming NFL season, and definitely not making it past their first opponent.

Atlanta Falcons Making Moves

It seems like forever since the Atlanta Falcons had a big money player since Michael Vick’s departure, but they are now looking to once again rebuild their NFL team identity.

In this year’s NFL offseason the Falcons drafted 7 key players that may not have big names or big contracts, but they will make a big impact to the Falcons just the same. In addition to some great NFL draft picks, the Falcons will also have the healthy return of key players such as Matt Ryan and Peria Jerry who both suffered injuries last year that prevented them from making a difference for the Falcons roster.

NFL Betting Predictions

Last NFL season the Falcons recorded 9 wins and 7 losses which isn’t that bad of a NFL win/loss record, however considering the Falcons roster you would have expected more from them which is the case again this year. This NFL season my NFL betting prediction is that the Atlanta Falcons will win 11 wins and have 5 losses.
